Five Sassuolo players have been called up for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023. Maria Luisa Filangeri, Benedetta Orsi and the new black&green player Chiara Beccari have been summoned with the Italian national team. Italy will make their debut in the tournament on Monday, July 24 at Eden Park in Auckland for the game against Argentina (8 a.m. Italian time, live on Rai 1).
The Azzurre’s other matches in the group will take place on Saturday, July 29 (Sweden-Italy, 9:30 a.m. Italian time) and Wednesday, August 2 (South Africa-Italy, 9 a.m. Italian time).
Same group as Italy for Banyana Banyana’s captain, Refiloe Jane. Our midfielder, who lifted the African Cup of Nations only a year ago, will make her South Africa debut on Sunday, July 23 against Sweden.
Also on Sunday, July 23, the new Black&Green goalkeeper Solène Durand will make her debut with France. Les Bleues will play against Jamaica. The other teams of their group are Brazil and Panama.
