The press conference for the presentation of the new project “Generation S”, promoted by U.S. Sassuolo Calcio took place this morning at Mapei Football Center.
The initiative, which is part of the busy schedule of activities related to the centenary of the club, aims to convey the positive values that the black&green club has always shared, from the beginning of sport at both regional and national level.
Generazione S is in fact a project that provides three distinct areas of action that are based on a single common factor: the black&green philosophy. Inclusivity, respect, and equality are the cornerstones on which the initiative lays its foundations for the development of the areas: EDUCATIONAL, ACADEMY and EXPERIENCE.
As we can see from the claim “ You need passion to grow up “, it is not just about football, but about bringing the typical philosophy of Sassuolo Calcio into a real 360° training on the fundamental values of sport to guide the young boys and girls in a path of personal growth even before that of sport. The birth of Generazione S is therefore accompanied by the “Charter of Values” document that represents all the moral and ethical features of Sassuolo Calcio.
To give due weight to the birth of a project as important as ambitious, this morning’s conference was attended by the CEO of the black&green club Giovanni Carnevali, the President of the Emilia Romagna Region Stefano Bonaccini, the CEO of Mapei Group and Vice President of U.S. Sassuolo Calcio Veronica Squinzi, the captain of Sassuolo Francesco Magnanelli and two exceptional testimonials who fully represent what it means to grow with the “S factor” from the first kicks: Giacomo Raspadori and Benedetta Orsi, flagships of the men’s and women’s teams who grew up in the club’s youth teams.
The opening of the conference was entrusted to the CEO of Mapei Group and Vice President of U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, Veronica Squinzi: “Generazione S is a wonderful innovative project that aims to promote the ethical and educational principles of sport among young people. A great initiative of social responsibility accessible to all, in a spirit of sharing and inclusion that immediately earned the full support of Mapei. We are convinced that football is a tool for promoting values such as fairness, responsibility and equality among boys and girls: an effective vehicle for their education, enhancing their abilities and inspiring their dreams. In its own growth path, Mapei too has been inspired by passion, hard work, talent, teamwork, enthusiasm, determination and perseverance when facing new challenges, values that have always been in its DNA. Our closeness to the world of sport is also the result of our desire to contribute to the social development of the community and the territory“.
The presence on site and virtually to the conference of some of the clubs that have so far joined Generazione S such as Caronnese (a club in the province of Varese that play in Serie D, the first amateur league), FYA Riccione (a historic club from Romagna that play in Eccellenza with many children in its youth sector) and Sporting Chiozza Scandiano (a club in the province of Reggio Emilia with a youth sector for boys and girls).
In September, the first conference will be organized at Mapei Stadium, as part of Generazione S Educational, which will focus on the theme: “La ripartenza: il parere tecnico dei nostri esperti” (The restart: the technical opinion of our experts) in the presence of renowned speakers and made for all actors of the project: clubs and their technical staff, boys and girls and their families.
